  • Terrace Room with outside patio, own bar and seating for up to 50 people.

  • Modern kitchen facilities and bar (by special arrangement).
  • Large parking area, children's playground and a fine view over the sports field.

Islip's Village Hall was built in the early 1950's but due to poor design it was not used for many years. The Hall was extensively refurbished in the millennium year and is now a fantastic community facility. It is increasingly being used by both residents of Islip and those from neighbouring communities. We are particularly proud of the Village Shop which is run by a dedicated team of volunteers.

An on-going improvement plan continues now. The catering facilities have been improved with a new range cooker and large 'fridge, magnificent stage curtains have been purchased and the Parish Room is an excellent meeting room with a smart boardroom table seating twelve.

The range of bookings is vast, from business meetings and toddlers groups during weekdays, to concerts, plays, parties, keep fit classes, and wedding receptions. There are currently changes being implemented to the Islip Village Club structure and committee and more information will be available in April 2010. Club membership continues to grow and forms are available in the shop. Many village events during the course of the year will be for Club members only, due to licensing laws, so join up soon. Recent Club 'Taste' nights have been extremely well attended and very enjoyable. We look forward to different cuisines in the future.

Please note that use of the bar is permitted for groups that meet in the hall i.e. Short Mat Bowls on a Thursday evening. Those participating must be Club members and permission to use the bar is at the discretion of the bar operator, Balvinder Gill and Chris Harding.

The Village Hall Committee, chaired currently by Chris Harding, is a group of villagers who get together on a monthly basis, with the task of managing and maintaining the hall and also its fabulous outdoor recreational space. The aim is to run a variety of village events during the year, in order to both raise funds for the upkeep of the facilities and to get everyone together and have fun! Annual events such as the Summer Fete and Bonfire Night are always well supported, and we continue to look for new ideas for social activities.

We want to run this facility for the whole village community, so please let us know your views on the hall and future events you would like to see organised. Please e-mail me from below.

Planned projects also include a new playground and tennis courts for which funding is now being sought in conjunction with the Parish Council.

Please get in touch if you have any suggestions or comments or would like to get involved in any way in future activities.
